Reject the "College Transparency Act"

The College Transparency Act (S. 2511) expands federal overreach by repealing bans on tracking students and establishing a committee to spy on your kids. Under this bill, a centralized federal database will monitor postsecondary students' academic, financial, and personal information with no ability to opt out. Colleges that accept federal Title IV funding would be required to submit this data, and the bill contains no cost estimate or funding cap. The database would also periodically match student records with data from other federal agencies, including Treasury, War, Veterans Affairs, Census, Labor, and Social Security.

Call your Senators today and urge them to vote NO on S. 2511. Together we can protect students' rights and stop mandatory government surveillance in higher education.
"Students, families, and taxpayers deserve clear, reliable information about college outcomes. But the College Transparency Act goes far beyond."

Rep. Tim Walberg
