Protect our Vote
Turning Point Action
Take Action Now
The Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act is not just another piece of legislation—it's a critical line in the sand for the integrity of our elections. Failing to pass the SAVE Act would jeopardize the integrity of our elections by allowing non-citizens to continue diluting the votes of legitimate citizens, undermining the foundation of our democracy- secure, fair, and trusted elections. The time to act is NOW- our nation’s future depends on it.
Imagine walking into the voting booth, believing that your voice is being heard, only to find that your vote is potentially being canceled out by someone who shouldn't be on the voter rolls in the first place. This is the reality we're facing. The influx of migrants since 2021 has only exacerbated the problem, with millions entering the U.S. and accessing public services that bring them dangerously close to voter registration. With states like Georgia and Pennsylvania already uncovering and purging non-citizens from their voter rolls, it's clear that this issue is widespread and deeply concerning.
The SAVE Act faces an uphill battle in the Senate due to the Democrat majority, making its passage unlikely on its own. Additionally, President Biden has promised to veto the bill, further diminishing its chances. To ensure the SAVE Act's provisions are enacted, House Republicans must attach it to the upcoming spending bill, leveraging the must-pass legislation to advance their agenda.
For too long, the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) of 1993 has allowed vulnerabilities in our system. By permitting welfare offices, DMVs, and other agencies to hand out voter registration forms without requiring proof of citizenship, we have opened the door to potential abuses. This isn't a hypothetical concern—it's happening now. Federal prosecutions, state investigations, and audits reveal that thousands of non-citizens have been registered to vote, diluting the voice of legitimate voters and threatening the foundation of our democracy.
The SAVE Act, introduced by Representative Chip Roy of Texas, is our solution. This bill demands proof of citizenship when registering to vote—whether by mail, at a DMV, or at a welfare agency. It's a common-sense measure that ensures only those eligible to vote can do so. House Speaker Mike Johnson and leaders from conservative organizations like Heritage Action are right to champion this cause. We need to close the loopholes that allow non-citizens to slip through the cracks, and we need to do it now.
The opposition will try to paint the SAVE Act as unnecessary or discriminatory, but let's be clear: protecting the integrity of our elections is neither. It's about ensuring that every legal vote counts and that every election result truly reflects the will of the people. In a time when our country is facing unprecedented challenges, we cannot afford to compromise on the very process that defines our democracy.
The SAVE Act is not just a bill—it's a necessary defense of our nation's future. We must act with urgency to pass this legislation, secure our voter registration process, and restore public trust in our elections. The time to stand up for the integrity of our democracy is now.
"With millions of illegal aliens entering our country, Congress must enforce voter registration to ensure only American citizens decide American elections."
Speaker Mike Johnson
