Cockpit cameras is another encroachment on aviation and the people who safely operate aircraft. Cameras do nothing for safety and security. Congress and the FAA should instead focus their energy on other pressing safety matters. We don't need to look very far to see that surveillance societies deliver exactly the opposite of what they promise. Supporters of cockpit cameras fail to recognize two indisputable facts:
1) Criminals are not deterred by laws or devices like cameras.
2) Cameras do absolutely nothing to mitigate root causes.
